Shenton has been sidelined since suffering anterior cruciate knee ligament damage in Castleford’s First Utility Super League round-one fixture at Hull KR six months ago. Tigers have six games left in the Super-8s and the centre is keen to play again this year, if he is given the all-clear. Powell said: “He has been discharged from the specialist and we’re just going through the protocol, seeing when he can play and then we’ll make a decision. “We will keep evaluating it as we roll through. “We have got a couple of games and then a break for Wembley and then we will see how things are going.” Powell said Tigers came through last Friday’s 30-16 win at leaders Hull with no new major injury cncerns, but he does not expect to have anybody back for the home clash with Wigan Warriors in three days’ time. “Andy Lynch (broken leg) and Jake Webster (ankle) are getting better, but they haven’t recovered as quickly as we had hoped they would,” he said. “We will have to see how they are over the next few weeks. “I think Webster might be [back] sooner than Lynchy, but we will have to see.”
