EIGHTY-seven staff have lost their jobs at a Selby distribution centre following the collapse of Yorkshire homewares group Rosebys, administrators have confirmed.
The Selby factory was shut this week along with 31 stores.
Twelve staff have been made redundant following the closure of Rosebys' White Rose Centre store in Leeds and a further five jobs have been axed in York.
In total 186 people have been made redundant across the 31 stores.
Howard Smith, joint administrator and KPMG restructuring associate partner, said: "It is with regret that we have had to close both the distribution centre in Selby and 31 more stores across the country.
"We anticipate further store closures next week, while we continue to have dialogue with a number of parties who are interested in either the whole or parts of the business."
The other stores which have been closed are spread across the country and include Hull.
collapsed
A week ago, administrators of the collapsed home furnishings group closed ten outlets making 60 people redundant. This followed 32 redundancies that were made from the Rotherham-based firm's head office and merchandising positions.
Rosebys was Britain's largest specialist textiles and home furnishings retailer and had around 280 stores when it went into administration with annual sales of around £100m. It employed around 2,000 staff.
It has a second Leeds store at the Crown Point Retail Park and further outlets in Gillygate, Pontefract; Oxford Street and Commercial Street, Harrogate, and Market Cross, Selby.
The collapse of the business was attributed to difficult trading conditions leading to continuing losses.
Mr Smith has previously indicated the administrators have received some 45 "expressions of interest" in the business and that talks were being held with interested parties.
He said that closing some of the poorer performing outlets had been unavoidable to ensure trading remained profitable.
