Dry suits a snip at £2,300
YORKSHIRE firm Hemingway Tailors is aiming to keep clients dry despite the wet summer using groundbreaking technology developed in the region.
Nanobloc is a new stain and water resistant cloth finish, created using nano-technology by Huddersfield based textile finishers, WT Johnson and Sons.
The finish does not affect the feel or breathe of luxury cloths, yet it repels liquids such as water, coffee and wine, causing them to simply bead up and roll off garments.
Global cloth merchant and fabric weaver, Holland and Sherry, has applied the technology to a wide range of cloths, including worsteds woven at Joseph H Clissold in Bradford.
Hemingway Tailors, based in Wakefield, has seen a strong uptake in orders for its £2,300 bespoke suits made up in the Nanobloc cloths since their introduction last month.
Toby Luper, director of Hemingway Tailors, said: "Clients are buying strongly into this new technology. This new technology allows us to deliver all the traditional qualities of a bespoke suit in the finest cloth, with the added benefits that it will repel stains, dirt and moisture."
