TWO entrepreneurial mums from West Yorkshire have created a shopping bag which they hope will revolutionise people's shopping habits while helping the environment.

The FootprintBag has been designed as a compact alternative to the many reusable shopping bags available on the market.

Containing eight reusable bags made from rip stop nylon – normally used for parachutes – within one compact pack, the Footpri
ntBag is small enough to fit into a handbag and is designed to be hung on a supermarket trolley.

Mums Claire Peto Cook and Hanny Wadsworth, from Huddersfield, formed their business last November, working through pregnancy and two births.

They have since found a manufacturer and supplier for the bag and are currently in talks with supermarket chains to stock it.

They say both Leeds-based Asda and Marks and Spencer have expressed an interest in the product.

The two mothers sought support and backing from former Dragon's Den TV star Rachel Elnaugh to help them get the product into the shops.

She describes the bag as "a fantastic, well thought through design".

Claire, 39, and a mum-of-two, is currently on maternity leave from British Airways, where she works as cabin crew member, along with partner Jon Eastwell. Hanny, 30, is originally from Germany and is married to former Huddersfield Town player Ian Wadsworth. She has a four year old son, Ben, and has just given birth to her second boy, Sam.
