A playground has received a mini-makeover after Get It Sorted stepped in to help.
Residents called for the playground off High Ash Drive in Alwoodley to be restored to its former glory.
Consumerwatch reported how swings were damaged, the play surface needed replacing, and graffiti needs removing as well as broken glass.
Now coun
cil workmen have been sent out to provide a little tender loving care to the playground just days after the problem was highlighted in the Get It Sorted column.
They have replaced broken swings, topped up the wood chip play surfacing, as well as tidying up the area.
Resident, Lesley Craven, pictured, said: "We are very grateful for the Yorkshire Evening Post's efforts for getting this sorted. Without the paper's involvement we feel we would not have got anywhere with this."
