I WAS mailed by Capital One, offering me a credit card, listing among its attractions the possibility of "repairing my credit history."

It read: "If you have a bad or incomplete credit history, having a Capital One Vista card could help improve your score as long as you manage your other finances correctly and make the minimum payment each month." This card is offered with a 34.9 per cent APR typical variable.

Hasn't this stuff been nailed as the cause of the crisis? It hasn't stopped! And how did they get the idea that I was desperate for credit?
