Lidl are eyeing up a potential site for a new supermarket in Horsforth, according to a local councillor.

Horsforth and Rawdon councillor Jonathan Taylor posted on Facebook about Lidl's proposal on Facebook.

The budget German supermarket has identified the Woodside Trading Estate on Low Lane as a potential site, he said.

"They had planned a public consultation event but for obvious reasons they aren’t able to hold that at this time.

"Residents close to the site will receive a leaflet from them over the coming days."

Consultation documents show Lidl bought the site in 2019.

They also propose a car park with 121 places

A planning application has not yet been submitted to Leeds City Council.
