GALLONS of paint were spotted floating on the River Aire in Leeds.

Environment Agency investigators have appealed for the public's help to trace the cause of the pollution, seen in the river on Thursday.
City centre worker Jenny Auton, of Beeston, said: "It was in the river at Brewery Wharf. The river was full of a strange oaty coloured liquid floating on the surface. It didn't have the sheen of oil, and there was a strong brewery smell."
An agency spokeswoman said several members of the public had reported the pollution.
After early investigations, it looked like the paint had come from the Holbeck area, she said.
The spokeswoman added: "It looks like some kind of paint. We checked it again on Friday, no more had appeared and it looked like what was there was dispersing. Its effect is more unsightly than any serious environmental harm.
"We are interested to try to trace the source, so if anyone has information on how it might have entered the river please contact us."
Contact the agency on 0800 807060.
