A PEDESTRIAN is in hospital with serious injuries after being knocked down by a motorist who failed to stop.
The 47-year-old man was today still detained in Leeds General infirmary following the accident in Stanningley Road, near the junction with Cockshott Lane, Armley, at 8.15pm yesterday.
Police said today that the vehicle failed to stop at the scene of the collision. However, a vehicle was later found and recovered a short distance away and a 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
Anyone with any information about the collision is asked to call PC 2369 Paul Conroy via 0845 6060606.
