Leeds police catch speeding drivers after setting up cameras in this 20mph street in Hunslet

Police have caught a number of speeding drivers after setting up cameras in south Leeds.

Officers from the Leeds South Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) were deployed to Hunslet on Sunday as part of a speed operation.

They set up mobile cameras on a stretch of Pepper Road, which has a 20mph speed limit.

Officers stopped a number of vehicles, including one vehicle which was recorded driving at 38mph.

These drivers were reported for speeding.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Leeds South NPT said: "Yesterday, officers from Inner South conducted a speed operation on Pepper Road in Hunslet.

"This road has a 20mph speed limit- several vehicles were stopped and have been reported for driving in excess of the speed limit."
