Man detained after ramming TWO West Yorkshire Police cars with police dog inside

A man has been detained after he rammed into two police cars - one of which had a police dog inside.

The suspect was wanted for domestic related offences and was confronted by West Yorkshire Police's dog unit on Wednesday.

He made off from officers, driving a white VW Golf, before ramming into a police car.

He then collided with the dog unit and caused significant damage to their Mondeo - which had a police dog inside.

Thankfully, the police dog was not injured.

The man was detained nearby and is now in custody for a number of offences.

The Police Dog Support Unit shared a picture of the damage on Thursday and tweeted: "Bad day at the office for one of our Mondeo last night.

"Male wanted for domestic related offences makes off from officers and rams a roads policing unit.

"He then collides with our dog unit and is subsequently detained nearby. One in custody for various offences.

"PD Resi seems fine."
