Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have launched a three-year development programme for women's and girls' rugby league.
The £250,000 scheme – funded by a grant from the club, main sponsor Eric France and Son and Sport England – will see girls' rugby academies established across the city.

Wildcats community director James Elston said: "Never before has something like this been attempted for girls' rugby league and I feel by setting up the academies in north, south and central Wakefield it will make it easy for girls to participate in rugby league."
