THE first round of voting has started for the National Television Awards – and Emmerdale stars have been shortlisted for a whole host of gongs.
Among the nominees are Charlotte Bellamy (Laurel Thomas) and John Middleton (Ashley Thomas), who feature in the Outstanding Serial Drama Performance category after their tragic storyline involving the cot death of their baby son Daniel.

Mark Charnock (Marlon Dingle), Kelvin Fletcher (Andy Sugden), Verity Rushworth (Donna Windsor-Dingle) and Charlie Hardwick (Val Pollard) are nominated in the same category; while the show is also up for the Most Popular Serial Drama award.

In addition, Sian Reese-Williams (Genesis Dingle) has been shortlisted in the Most Popular Newcomer category.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at London's Royal Albert Hall in October, to be screened on ITV1.

To vote, visit www.national tvawards.com or call 08713 765 765. All votes must be in by August 1.
