Darren Gough has rallied his shell-shocked troops ahead of tonight's Twenty20 Cup quarter-final shoot-out at Durham Dynamos – as Yorkshire aim to reignite their silverware hopes.
Yorkshire – and Gough's – dreams of Lord's glory were comprehensively shattered as they succumbed to Essex Eagles by 87 runs in Saturday's Friends Provident Trophy last-four clash.

But Carnegie have no time to lick their wounds, with Durham on the immediate horizon this evening (5.10pm start) in another crunch cup encounter.

And while morale was understandably low in the dressing room at Chelmsford, with a few hearts also broken, skipper Gough is steadfastly focusing on their next mission at the Riverside – with victory the best way of forgetting about their shattering Essex defeat.

If they need any further incentive, it's booking a place in the Twenty20 finals day for the first time since the competition's inception.

And despite Durham holding the Indian sign over Yorkshire – the north-easterners have beaten them twice in the County Championship and triumphed against them in the Friends Provident Trophy and in the Northern qualifying section of the Twenty20 Cup – Gough is confident.

And the skipper will have a strong squad to pick from, something that hasn't been the case against Durham in their recent meetings.

He said: "It's another hard draw. We're sick of playing against them!

"Durham are one of the best two or three sides in the country.

"They are impressive with bat and ball and have beaten us twice convincingly (in the Championship). They are a good side.

"They are an aggressive side with the ball and with the bat, they look to dominate and bat all the way down.

"We know how they are going to play up there. They'll have four big lads bowling and they bowl to hit the wicket and take wickets.

"I'm a massive fan of (Steve) Harmison, I think everybody knows that. Pace-wise, he's as quick as anyone you'll face in this country.

"But now we're getting everybody fit again, we can probably match them on that front.

"That's the added bonus this time, we might have proper batting and bowling all the way down.

"In the Twenty20, we've had a mix and match line-up and we've never had our strongest side out yet.

"It's been a great effort to get where we've got to."

Today's clash will be shown live on Sky Sports.
