The new FA Women's Premier League season starts tomorrow when Leeds Carnegie Ladies takes on newly-promoted Fulham Women at the earlier time of 1pm.
Fulham were promoted from the Southern League at the end of last season, a year after they were relegated, and Leeds manager Rick Passmoor is not underestimating the challenge they will pose.

"I'm sure Fulham will still be riding high after promotion," he said.

"We finished third last season and had a cup final appearance, so we're going to be one of those teams that people will raise their game for.

"It will be almost like a cup tie.

"We need to stay sharp and stay focused, or we'll get turned over."

Leeds also have a series of long-term injuries to contend with.

Nicole Emmanuel and new signing Ellen White are both on the long-term injury list, while Sophie Walton, Carly Telford and captain Jess Wright are also out.

And Sophie Bradley will miss the start of the season as she will be in Beijing as an FA Ambassador to the Olympics.

"It's not been the easiest of pre-seasons," said Passmoor. "But I was able to play many of the first team in a friendly against Leeds City Vixens this week.

"I'd like to thank the Vixens for a great game, and for helping us out at such short notice. We really do appreciate it.

"Now we need to build on that and get a win against Fulham, and give ourselves the momentum and confidence to go forward into the season proper."

Tomorrow's game will be played at The Park, home to Tadcaster Albion FC, at the earlier-than-usual time of 1pm.

Tickets cost £4 for adults and £2 for children.
