Robert Snodgrass says Leeds United players must meet the standards expected of them at Elland Road this season – or risk incurring the wrath of their own supporters.
Snodgrass made his competitive home debut last weekend in the 2-0 defeat to Oldham Athletic, and the Scottish winger does not believe United's fans will tolerate any more than the occasional poor performance at Elland Road.

Leeds were lining up against Yeovil Town at Huish Park today but will return to Elland Road on Tuesday to face Crystal Palace in the second round of the Carling Cup before contesting a second home match in the space of five days against Bristol Rovers.

An attendance of almost 25,000 took in the defeat to Oldham, and United are anticipating large crowds throughout the term after selling more than 11,000 season tickets.

But Snodgrass said: "You need to do the business on the park week in, week out. That's why these fans come to watch us.

"We have to be better than we were against Oldham, especially in front of our own fans because they won't tolerate that.

"They're paying good money to come and see us and we can't afford to slip up. We have to produce for them and for ourselves, to get promotion."

Meanwhile, Leeds have confirmed that they do not stand to benefit from David Healy's move from Fulham to Sunderland.

The striker was sold by the Elland Road club to Craven Cottage in July 2007, raising a seven-figure sum, but the transfer did not involve a sell-on clause.
