Wakefield Trinity's Mobile Rocket Stadium, Belle Vue, will be the hub of efforts to provide meals for those in need over the Christmas period.

The Big Feed project, run by the club’s community foundation, is due to begin next week and will support families in and around the Wakefield area who are struggling to provide a healthy meal over the winter months.

The initiative, supported by Wakefield Council and Wakefield District Housing, is part of The Big Project, which was announced in February.

Launched next Tuesday, December 22, it will run until Christmas Eve and then again from Sunday, December 27, to New Year’s Day.

Meals, freshly-cooked on-site by LD Nutrition, will be available at Mobile Rocket Stadium or Rycroft Leisure Centre from 11am-1pm and 2-4pm.

The kitchen will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, but families can collect more than one meal to support themselves over that two day period.

More than 100 volunteers have offered their support to the foundation.
