MANCHESTER UNITED striker Fraizer Campbell is not ruling out a loan return to Hull City before the transfer window shuts.
Campbell started United's first game of the Premiership season against Newcastle last Sunday due to the high number of players out with injury at Old Trafford.

But with players set to return and United closing in on a move for Spurs striker Dimita
r Berbatov, the Huddersfield-born ace admits another loan move to City could transpire.

The 20-year-old forward joined the then Championship side on loan last year and scored an impressive 15 goals for them before returning to United in the summer.

For now though Campbell says all he is really concerned with is trying to keep his place in the United first team.

He said: "I'm trying to get another start at Manchester United and as many starts as I can."

But when pushed for an answer regarding his possible future at Hull, Campbell didn't see any reason why it couldn't still go through.

He added: "Why not? We will just have to wait and see what happens."

Meanwhile, veteran front man Dean Windass has been assured he still has a big future at the club despite being overlooked in the opening day's victory over Fulham.

The Hullensian had to settle for a place on the bench and was looking on as Marlon King and Caleb Folan, who netted the winner, were both sent on ahead of him.

But boss Phil Brown insisted that on a different day it will be Windass who will be called on, adding: "Of course, there were some frustrated players, but the only way for them to vent their frustrations is to train well and put their hat in the ring for the next game.

"On Saturday, the decision was based on who was tiring and who might bring us pace.

"That doesn't mean to say that there'll never be a place for Dean Windass to start, that's for sure. He brings a lot of experience to this squad.

"He's keen to get his first start, like a lot of players, and hopefully that will come sooner rather than later."

City chairman Paul Duffen has denied City have made a bid for the striker Stefan Meyerhof – dubbed the Austrian Peter Crouch.

Reports had suggested that Tigers boss Brown had made a £1.5m move for the Rapid Vienna forward, who is 6ft 7in.

But the talk has been scotched by Duffen.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday are being linked with a move for Tigers defender Wayne Brown, who has moved down the City pecking order following the £2.5m arrival of Anthony Gardner.
