A GOAL in Swindon could mark an extra-special birthday for Danny Cadamarteri but the striker insists top of his wish list is three points for Huddersfield Town.
Cadamarteri turns 29 on Sunday but the celebrations are very much on hold with Town facing an important League One trip to the County Ground tomorrow.

The game is crucial to the Terriers following a midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy loss that was so disappointing the club decided to refund fans their ticket money.

Cadamarteri played 90 minutes at Darlington and while the result left a sour taste, it meant valuable match fitness for the forward on his comeback from a hamstring injury.

Now a goal tomorrow could set up a memorable weekend, but the striker said he would prefer three points as the icing on his birthday cake.

"It would be fantastic if I could get a goal but I'm not one for taking personal praise," said Cadamarteri. "The main thing is that we get the right result. If I score then great, but as long as we win then that would be the ideal birthday present."

Town are desperately hoping for promotion to mark their centenary year but a disappointing start has left them with just nine points from their opening nine games.

The Terriers are eight points off the play-offs and while Cadamarteri insists there is absolutely no crisis, he knows a winning sequence needs to start soon.

"Every game is important but we want and we need the points," he said.

"We really need to start putting a string of results together.

"If we can get a result this weekend it could give us a lot of confidence.

"Swindon are a good side, it's a long way to go and it will be a tough game. But if we could win there then that could really do it for us."

Town fans will demand a big improvement on Tuesday's showing.

In total, 387 Huddersfield fans made the trip to the Darlington Arena and those supporters wishing to attend next month's derby at Leeds will now have the price of their tickets subsidised.

The move could cost Huddersfield in the region of £3,000, with ticket prices at Darlington being set at £10 for adults and £5 concessions.

A club statement read: "People are going through difficult times at the moment and this includes our supporters and their families.

"Despite this, their backing for the club remains magnificent.

"It is important that the club recognises this and also does not take this support for granted.

"In these circumstances, we feel the right thing to do is to offer the fans who travelled to Darlington and support us their money back."

Town fans who bought a ticket for the game are asked to bring the ticket stub to the club's ticket office.

They will then be discounted on purchasing an away ticket for the game at Elland Road on Saturday, November 15, subject to meeting the ticket criteria.
